6th November 2008
Warrington charity The Moore Foundation had it's annual 'Princess Ball' at The Park Royal Hotel in Stretton.
Party goers were treated to first class entertainment from comedian Steve Royle who has also appeared alongside Peter Kay in Pheonix Night's and Britain's Got the Pop Factor... and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice. Steve commented that he'd got lost on the way to the show because there are so many Warrington junctions!
Moore Foundation patron, singer Billy Myers opened the show and compered the evening, attended by the Deputy Mayor of Halton & Mike Hall MP, and impressionist Steve Ricks gave a fantastic performance ranging from the Bee Gees to Paul McCartney.
The Foundation who grant money to individuals and smaller charities right here in Warrington are still awaiting various pledges to come in but it is known that last year's fundraising total of just short of £15,000 has been exceeded.
Moore Foundation patron Dominic Walker, who addressed guests on the evening, summarised the work the Foundation has done over the last twelve months said "the evening was thoroughly enjoyable and to find out that despite there being a credit crunch we have managed to exceed last year's total is simply amazing." While chairman Nigel Garner added "everyone who came had an amazing time. It is the aim to raise and grant in excess of £100,000 per year and after the year we have had, that dream is coming closer to reality."
The Moore Foundation is a charitable trust established to provide financial and practical relief to local childrens’ charities and worthy causes.
Proceeds are received via annual Summer Ball, The Moore Foundation Golf Day, Variety Evenings and general fundraising activities throughout each year.
