Orford Stay and Play Group receives £1000

8th August 2008

An Orford based play scheme has this week received £1000 from local charity The Moore Foundation to buy much needed toys and resources.

The Stay and Play group, based at Bradley Common Community Centre in Orford encourages both children and parents able bodied and disabled to play together in a safe environment.

Maureen Higham who runs the group said "this is a very kind donation from the Moore Foundation, I promise I will spend the money very wisely."

Chairman of the Moore Foundation Nigel Garner said "this is an organisation that is doing great work in the Orford area and £1000 will make a real difference. When we donate to an organisation or individual we always hope to have an ongoing relationship and I certainly hope this is the case with the Stay and play group."

The Moore Foundation recently donated £1600 to another Warrington based play scheme called WASC. Nigel added "we pride ourselves in that we don’t have long chains we like to react quickly."

The Moore Foundation raises funds throughout the year by donations from individuals and fundraising events such as The Princess Ball on Saturday 25th October at The Park Royal in Stretton.
