Moore Foundation helps to send a Warrington teenager stateside

Warrington charity, The Moore Foundation has today announced its intention to help a Warrington Teenager attend The World Leadership Congress in Washington DC.

Rachel Jefferson, 15 who attends William Beamont High School is one of only a few delegates from the U.K. who will attend the WLC in July. In total 500 High Schools throughout the world will be represented at this event which is hosted by Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY)

Rachel, who represents Cheshire in Athletics has been fundraising over the last few weeks and is delighted that the Moore Foundation has donated £500 which is a large chunk of the £1600 she needs to raise for flights and accommodation.

Dominic Walker, Patron of the Moore Foundation said "there are few charities who will help someone like Rachel achieve her full potential. It is an honour for me and the Trustees to help Rachel attend this prestigious international conference. Just chatting to Rachel you realise how bright, talented and confident she is and I’m sure she’ll be a great ambassador for Warrington at the WLC."

There is a lot of serious business to be discussed at The World Leadership Conference and students are exposed to a distinguished group of leaders from various sectors in business, government, international affairs, science and technology, medicine, media and education.

Speaking about HOBYGeorge W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States said "Education plays an essential role in helping students develop into future leaders. The skills and ideas young people acquire will help them make wise decisions in the coming years. Through these seminars, held annually in each of our United States, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) provides excellent opportunities for students to better understand the workings of democracy and the free enterprise system."
