Grant awarded to Warrington Association for Special Children

31 July 2008

Local Children's charity The Moore Foundation has today announced that a grant of £1600 has been awarded to Warrington Association for Special Children to help purchase some specialist fibre optic lighting equipment.

WASC do a lot of good work within the Warrington area for children with profound disabilities. During the Summer Holidays WASC will be running a supervised four week long play scheme. In addition there are play schemes ran throughout the year during school holidays, a regular youth club and also a Saturday morning club.

Research shows that children with disabilities particularly autism are stimulated by this form of lighting.

Chairman of the Moore Foundation Nigel Garner whose vision is to eventually be able to grant £100,000 a year to local charities and individuals said "I am very pleased that the Moore Foundation can help WASC. Wendy's team at WASC is an incredibly dedicated team of people and I know that this award will enable them to purchase much needed resources."

The Moore Foundation raises funds throughout the year with events such as The Princess Ball which this year will take place on 25th October at The Park Royal Hotel in Stretton.

Any one wishing to donate or to raise funds for The Moore Foundation should contact Nigel or Frank on 01928 59 77 42 / 01928 53 17 20.
